Gnosis uses a reconstructed modified average: low-count albums are pulled toward the overall Gnosis mean, and converge on their ordinary mean as ratings accumulate.
Important: the original Gnosis FAQ documents that behavior, but the original formula has not been recovered. V2's reconstruction uses 2.5 corpus-average pseudo-ratings and is intentionally marked with an asterisk.
For Me predicts Mike's score from positively correlated Gnosis raters, normalizing for how generously or harshly each person uses the 1–15 scale. If Mike has already rated an album, the app shows his actual rating instead.
